Myrmecophila tibicinis formerly Schomburgkia tibicinis

Name changes have affected the former genus Schomburgkia first established by Lindley in 1838, honouring Moritiz Richard Schomburgk eventually the Director of the Adlelaide Botanic Garden. There have apparently been several efforts to reclassify Schomburgkia (part of the Cattleya group). The South American species are now in Laelia and the ant hosting species in a new genus Myrmecophila.
