Bulbophyllum renkinianum
Another species from Africa, Gabon and Zaire. Epiphytic from lowland forest. The rhachis on this species is flattened and blade-like and up to 20cm long. The 10mm long flowers are placed on either side of the rhachis.
The lips have unusual irregular whitish to opaque blotches, so that when you see them rocking in a certain light you get a stobe effect all along the flowers.

renkinianum
Thanks Eric, it's just coming into flower again after 4 years. The plant got very large and unweildly so I split it up into 3 parts, gave two parts away (one to a botanical institution and the other to an orchid friend). I nearly lost my part, these plants just don't like being disturbed.

did the others survive?
do you know if the others survived Bernard?
I have always liked the idea of giving people divisions of my plants.
You never know when disaster may strike and you can then beg for a piece back.
I have had to do that a number of times....

survival
The botanical piece survived but my bulbo friend brought his piece back to me several months later to see if I could save it, it was already on it's last legs,RIP.
