Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi

Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi

As a comparison with the plant from Sumatran origin by Pak Sheikh, here are two photos of botanicals from northern Thailand. The flowers are 43 mm long.

In the part pure color form, take notice of the differences between a fresh and an old flower.

Under "assisted" natural conditions these plants can flower the whole year.

Anomalie

The photo of the Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi with dark brown sepals and petals has been taken at the Chiang Rai Flower Festival.

Colour forms

I now have seven different colour forms of the species in my collection Rik. The red you photographed is probably the best red I have seen though. My best red (see post at http://orchidsonline.com.au/node/8985) still has a fine pale line around the outside.
