Dendrobium wentianum x glomeratum
Originally submitted as Den. obtusisepalum x sulawesciensense. Edit as per Kew Monocot List.
This is one of two exceptions to my "NO Hybrids" rule. Personally, don't understand wasting space with them however, each to their own. That said, these flower are spectacular and have been going for over two months.

Warm House
Do you grow this plant in your warm house? What I'm saying is will it grow in the tropics and flower? Also where did you get it from as I would like to try and grow one.

Last Four
John, have loved the last 4 posts you have put up. Beautiful photos.

grand
Hybrid or not, certainly an eye stopper, with lovely strong colours. I would love to add this to my collection.

Den hybrid
Hi Eric,
This plant came from Bill Miles. The name submitted was the name on the plant when I purchased it. I have grown and flowered it in the glasshouse but this year it has just been out in the yard.

Lovely! I have one of these,
Lovely! I have one of these, as well as a glomeratum, and I'm hoping they'll bloom within a month or so. Yours is just gorgeous.
no hybrids
I can understand your no hybrids rule and try to stick to that one myself.
The rule gives some assistance in limiting the size of my collection...thus the size of shadehouse required.
I regularly break this rule for the best primary hybrids (as you have also done with this fantastic plant) and the best of the complexes which are offered by friends. Some of these end up becoming my favourite plants
In any case, I consider primary hybrids to be 'very close' to species anyway.
