Ool's the Orchids Online site currency

There is an Orchids Online site currency to help us systematically control what
happens on the site. This system has now made the site a much easier place to administer as it has removed the spammers ability to post anything at all.

Ool's are awarded or deducted automatically for a number of things and manually by admin's for a number of other things.

Ool's are awarded for:-
Post a comment = 5 ool's
Post an image = 10 ool's
Post a blog = 5 ool's
Post an exceptional quality post of any kind (admin decision) = 10 ool's
ID Bonus = 100 ool's
Donation = 10 ool's/dollar donated
Time served = 100 ool's/year completed (must have visited the site several times in that year)

Ool's are also deducted for:-
Deleting any previously posted content = -X (X = the ool's value earned initially is removed from the members accumulated post ool's)
Comment offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Image offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Blog offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Voting offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Email offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Not comply with admin request offence = -50 (from ID Bonus)
Repeated OR major offences = -X (from ID Bonus - the value of X is decided admins)

How this helps us control things is this. To gain unrestricted site access (IE: new member, silver member, etc) a member must Gain 100 Ool's as an ID Bonus.
If the member then posts comments, images etc they also accumulate ool's.

If any offence is commited a reduction will occur in the amount of a members ID Bonus. If the total in a members account ever goes to 0 or a minus figure for their ID Bonus, they are automatically stripped of unrestricted access (IE: they become an 'access limited member').

If a member loses their ID Bonus, a decision will be made by the admins as to whether the member is allowed post access again. The onus is on the person who has lost site access to convince admins that they should be granted post access again.

After a member has been with us as a new member for 12 months they will be awarded a 'Time served' bonus and become a Silver member.

After another 12 months (total 2 years as a member of Orchids Online) as a Silver member they will be awarded another 'Time served' bonus and become a Gold member.

NOTE: Time served bonus is only awarded to those who continue to visit the site during that time.

Platinum member status is gained when the total of a members ool's balance is greater than:-

1500 ool's total but must include the full 100 ool's ID Bonus plus both the Silver and Gold Time served bonus's with the remainder of the 1500 being made up of post ool's OR donation ool's (see here http://orchidsonline.com.au/node/4911).

3000 ool's but must include the full 100 ool's ID Bonus plus the Silver time served bonus with the remainder of the 3000 being made up of post ool's OR donation ool's (see here http://orchidsonline.com.au/node/4911).
