Bulbophyllum schillerianum has tiny ""crab-claw"" flowers which are well worth a closer look with the aid of a magnifying glass (you may need one - I do!). This species can be found to at least as far south as the Hunter river in NSW and as far north as the Endeavour river in North Qld. Found at sea level to around 1200m in a range of light conditions but most often in quite shaded situations.
Found in a wide variety of habitats from mangroves to the cloud forests either as a lithophyte or an epiphyte forming a small bunch of rhizomes. Best grown on a piece of
treefern, as the plants become pendulous. This species will flower almost any month throughout the year but mainly between April-July.
