I see and read all the posts on this site about the excellent growing conditions in Australia and other warm climes.
Thought I would enclose an image of part of my warmhouse to show how I am cramped for space. The orchids stay in place all year, it doesn't get warm enough to put plants out side. Of course, this makes our hobby all the more challenging.

Whoa!! I thought I...
I thought I saw a jungle there...very nice collection you hv here..I wonder how other members' here look like.
Good to see
Hi bernabu, it's good to see other growers shadehouse and growing area. You are cramped for sure. I don't know how lucky I am with all my space.

Fantastic
Hi Bernard, what a fantastic collection u've got there...and as for the congested area i suppose we share the same problem. And the biggest problem which seem to be typical among us is that we cant stop looking for more and more of this species and thus this will eventually leave us no space left. And pawpaw you are lucky enough to have all the space you need and for this i would suggest that you should grow few clumps of Gramm.speciosum...as a landmark...

The sheds about to fall
The sheds about to fall over!!!!
its still...
You call that full? There's more nooks and crannies that needed filling with more Bulbos. Have you thought of turning this shed into a double or triple storey?
Its very pleasing to the eye. In fact it is very neat and tidy. Mine looked like a bombsite!! LOL
Well done Bernard.
warm growing
Thank you all for your kind comments. After I have had a plant and flowered it a couple of times, I study it , take a picture of it and then, when it gets too large I move it via a swap, or sell it at auction. By working this way I maximise the available space for new species.

strong man
Your a stronger man than me Bernard!
Please tell me that you still have all those fantastic B. lobbii's we have all drooled over?
I can't bear to part with my plants once I have commenced growing and flowering them. I know that puts you in a hard spot when you would love more plants but in my case lots of plants depart on a regular basis anyway....kinda like natural selection...LOL

Like me
Steve you are like me. I cant bear to part with my bulbos except when I divide them up and have spares. I always make sure I have two of each before I consider to part with any of them. But as I said earlier I have the room.

lobbii
I have kept four of my favourite varieties of B.lobbii, it is just not possible to keep more.
bernabu
oh no!!!!
Seriously you must be very strong willed Bernard.
I just could not have made that decision....it would have killed me I reckon.
I guess you do have your brilliant photos but for me I just would not be satisfied with that.
I reckon you need to move somewhere you have more space mate!
Houses are cheap in Beenleigh with the recession and all!!!!
Big yards (800-1000m2 blocks)!!!!
Better climate to grow Bulbos!!!!
Plenty of caring growers around to share those you want to get rid of!!!!
enuf reasons??

comment
Steve I don't know about being strong-willed, I would love to keep them all but it's just not practical. There's just no way I could keep all those lobbii's. Besides, I want to find and learn more with new and interesting species.
bernabu
joking around
so moving to Beenleigh is out? LOL
I really do understand Bernard...just joking around!
(and by the way you must be strong willed)
Regards wellsy
Oh I'm envious! :)
Oh I'm envious! :) We're renting, so can never have anything like that. I have 2 hanging vanda's which I hang out every morning in a tree, and have 9 other potted orchids which fit on one shelf on my verandah. Because of the cold, and a very pesky possum, I take them in every night, and out in the mornings. Thanks for all the photo's of your greenhouses guys...something for me to aspire to! :)

growing
Jo, If you only have space for 12 at the moment, it means that you can give more individual attention to them, after your family of course. Growing orchids is an interesting, challenging, wonderful, relaxing and rewarding hobby.
good luck with your growing.
bernabu

Looks like there happy!
