Bloom induction

Could you explain your bloom induction technique? Please?

Non Orchid Plant : Narcissus

Hi Dr. Nieves,

I think the pictures in the posting might lead to some photographic confusion!

I put the bowl of Paperwhites Narcissus ( Plural of Narcissi/ Daffodils - http://www.flowers.org.uk/flowers/facts/k-r/narcissus.htm ] in front of the Rsc. Nacouchee' Mission Valley".

The Orchid plant was behind the Narcissus bowl, I apologise if it creates confusion!

For the Non Orchid item, Narcissus in water bowl:

I did this for the first time, I had no experience on this . On this web-site, they posted the technic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Paperwhites.jpg

The "Soleil d'Or" variety [Chinese sacred lily- The one that blooms at Midnight on the eve of lunar New Year] has better fragance ( more tolerable ) , dwarter leaves, with yellow throat flowers, comparing to the N. paperwhites ?

Refs:

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daffodil

2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissus_papyraceus
( From many web-sites, if we fill water above the base of the bulbs, it will rot!
And, these bulbs will no longer bloom , after the indoor-flower induction with this technic )

I hope this clarify your question, thank you for asking!

You all have a great week!

Phu, nice work, you have

Phu, nice work, you have managed to confuse us.

How about 2 photos, one of your Rsc. Nacouchee without the bowl and one with the bowl of Narcissus for the non orchid gallery without the Catt. in the background.

I found it very interesting once I worked out the Catt. had nothing to do with the bowl.

Rsc. Nacouchee'Mission Valley' Addendum

Hi Bill,

Your order had been carried!

The IPG_3786 & IPG_3192 came from 2 different pots, same original plant, which was divided 5 years ago.

The plant whose picture was taken as IPG_3786 actually yielded 5 flowers in 2 spikes. When I found the bloom, the other 4 flowers were detached from the spike-stem, because it was too heavy!

Thanks Phu

Thanks Phu, well done, you'll notice I've moved the Narcissus tazetta to the Non-Orchid gallery.
