Natural habitat:
Brazil in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Flower size:
Ranges in between 10.0 cm to 13.0 cm.

Blooming:
Late spring.

Cultivation:
Need plenty light and good air circulation.

S. lobata is very close related to S. purpurata. Both species are relatively easy to differenciate.
**The frontal lobe shape of S. lobata is more square than the frontal lobe from S.purpurata which has a rounder shape.
**S. lobata shows less contrast on the lip color than S. purpurata.
**S.lobata sepal and petal are more wavy in comparison to S. purpurata.
