Appendicula elegans

Appendicula elegans

Plant grown by Bob Browning from Townsville, Australia.

Very small flowers and I think not often seen.

Appendicula elegans

Huhh!!

Bill are you sure this is an orchid? Looks like marijuana flowers to me!!!

I'm sure

Yep, I'm sure it's an orchid, not something I would grow of course.

Appendicula Blume 1825 SUBFAMILY Epidendroideae, TRIBE Podochileae, SUBTRIBE Podochilinae.

Bill

I'm not confident....

I'm not confident that the pic is the right plant!!! Bill try Google for pictures to see for comparisons.

Appendicula elegans

Bill, looks like a mistake with the name on this one. The species from this genus usually have leaves placed in two rows all along the stems.
Inflorescences lateral or terminal. A.elegans flowers are 3.5mm broad; petals and sepals greenish with the mentum white flushed with purple.
