Caularthron hybrid

Caularthron hybrid

Original submission below.

Cattleya ????

I wonder if u guys could identify this............I'm not sure weather its a sp or hybrid.....
Thanks in advance

Caularthron hybrid

Earth calling Horst

Horst, this is interresting and different, have you ever seen anything like it????

Bill

Very obvious

This is definitely a Caularthron hybrid. It is very distinguishable from the rest of the catt hybrids.

Cattleya???

I would lay odds that this is a hybrid of Caularthron (syn Diacrium) bicornutum, probably with something like Cattleya intermedia.

Brisbane we have a problem!!

Aliens are invading the Cattleya world.

Caularthron is a good guess. But not C. intermedia.
The stripes on the lip are typically C. schilleriana.
The pseudobulbs and the leafs indicate a different genus. Not likely a Cattleya.
With other words: I never did see something like this before.

It would be interesting to know how big are the flowers and the plant.

Cattleya id

Hi Guys,
When i first saw this plant i myself got confuse actually.....The pseudobulb at first glance look like it belong to Dendrobium but the flower without any doubt it's a Cattleya.....
And for ur info Horst the width of the flower fr.end to end is approx.3 inch n the lips is approx.1 inch in length....
And the plant is approx.10 - 11 inch in length.
Well i supposed this could help u guys out there......The seller told me that this is a sp,but i'm not sure.....It doesn't matter to me actually, the only things that matters me is that the inflorescence consist of 8 - 9 beautiful flowers n that's what attract me......And it will be more meaningful if u guys out there can assist me in identifying the id of the plant.

Thanks n Best Regards,
Pak sheikh.

Caulocattleya

The mystery is called Caulocattleya!

Check the following link: http://www.orquidariovirtual.com/orquídeas/caulocattleya/
The question is still: Which Cattleya was used? I am not be able to determine with certainty. I do not have enough experience with this Genus.

I like this kind of flower and will do some hybrids in the near future with Caularthron or with Caulocattleyas.
Thank you Pak sheikh for posting the pictures of this beautiful orchid.
Thanks to GMan and migocab to show me the right track.

Horst

My friend Please, I would

My friend

Please, I would like to have 2 pots for this plants. Can?

Caularthron

Hi Pak, well you have had us licking our lips looking at this flower.

At the moment it can't be named so I think we should list it as Caularthron hybrid unknown. There are 87 registered hybrids that it could be covering many genera not just Cattleya.

Bill

Caularthron

Bill,

I agree. Some other genera can be considered also. Everybody was too much focused on cattleyas.

Horst

Caularthron

Thankyou Horst, I will edit accordingly.
