This poor species is everywhere published as Schomburgkia crispa.
In many cases even as the type form of Schomburkia. But the Royal Botanic Garden has it listed as Laelia gloriosa, although the Royal Botanic Garden can not accept Laelia gloriosa but Schomburgkia gloriosa if I am right.

Distribution: Venezuela, Surinam, North Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador.
Flower size: 3.5 cm

Blooming: Early Spring

It is considered a hot growing species. Grows well in the South of Brazil also. Must be one of this adaptable Species. We only protect the plant during the cold winter days and place it under a plastic cover.
