A Genus with 4 species only.
Chytroglossa aurata Rchb.f., 1863
Synonym:Chytroglossa aurata f. luteoviridis V.P.Castro & Chiron, (2007).
The natural habit is the Atlantic Rainforest and costal region of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Espirto Santos
Chytroglossa marileoniae Rchb.f., 1863
Can be found in the Atlantic Rainforest of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
Chytroglossa paulensis Edwall, 1903
Natural habit is limited to the Atlantic Rainforest in the State of São Paulo.
Chytroglossa seehaweri I.Bock, 1997 is a Synonym. The accepted name is Rauhiella seehaweri (I.Bock) Toscano & Christenson, (2001)
Found in a very limited area of the Atlantic Rainforest called 'Serra de Macae de Cima' in the state of Rio de Janeiro
Chytroglossa are considered mini orchids, likes humid condition during all year. Grows best mounted on Tree Fern plaques. Roots must kept aerated.
