Bulbophyllum sp

Bulbophyllum albidostylidium Seidenf., Opera Bot. 124: 47 (1995).
Distribution: Endemic in Northeast Thailand.

Some features to look for: the tip of the lip is triangular obtuse; the column is white (hence the name of this species).

Does someone know to which section this plant belongs?

Bulbo sp.

I can't see any details to comment on the identification. If you were to follow Seidenfaden's system, this bulbo should be placed under the sect. Racemosa which includes many of the bulbos in sect. Careyana. I hope i got it right. Regards, Daniel.

Bulbophyllum sp

Thank you for the info Daniel. I shall try to get confirmation from a Thai botanist on the section.

There are not enough details in the image to make a convincing identification and mine can be wrong. I have looked at the shape of the inflorescence (long and drooping), the tip of the lip (possibly triangular obtuse), the number of flowers (15-20) and the flowering time (January-February) (Author: Nantiya Vaddhanaphuti).

Maybe Pak can give more details of the flower/plant.

Bernard has asked/convinced me to start posting images and information on Bulbophyllums in Section Careyana and Racemosa. This is a communal project and all OOL members who have images and/or info can contibrute. Contact Wellsy or Bernard for more details.

The aims of this project are:
1. To post images which show identification details.
2. To post a short description in "list format" about the visible identification details and/or a published description of the species. Make reference to the author.
3. To build a database of reference images.

Look at this template for making a description.
Flowering habit: scape length; raceme length and the way that the flowers are placed.
Flowers: general appearance.
Sepals (dorsal sepal can be different).
Petals:
Lip and auricles:
Column and stelidia:
Plant description: rhizome (spacing of pseudobulbs), pseudobulb, leaf.

Hi Pak,
This one is B.limbatum. Section Hirtula. The psuedobulbs are very distinctive with this species. They are up to 8cm apart, round and flattened about 1.7cm in diameter, with a short central projection to which the leaf is joined. In Malaya found in Johor and Singapore. Also found in Thailand,Sumatra and Borneo. Inflorescence up to 18cm long.
