Sophrocattleya Orquidacea's Queen Hill (Sc.Topaz x Sc.Amber Glow 'Magnificent')
Hybrid registered 2005

lovely
lovely Horst! This is certainly an example of why we put various species together. It looks like just a very good primary hybrid to me. How complex is it's background with those two parents?

Background
Wellsy,
Sc. Topaz is a primary hybrid(Cattleya warneri x Sophronitis cinnabarina)
Now Sc. Amber Glow has quiet a background:
14 times C.dowiana
one time S.xantina
3 times C.bicolor
one time C.eldorado
one time S.tenebrosa,
2 times C.labiata,
one time S.cinnabarina,
one time C.trianae
It started in 1894 with C. Fabia, going through 24 primary and multiple hybrids to get to Sc. Amber Glow.
This shows to me, that certain species, specially Sophronitis cinnabarina, are overpowering multiple hybrids and species from the group of Cattleyas with big flowers.
Regards Horst
thanks Horst!
thanks Horst!
For all its complexity it has retained the species look with very refined colouration.

Great color!
Its color is lovely. I like it so much!
I got a Sc. Amber Glow and I am going to make some hybrids from it. Hopefully, they will be nice like yours.
