Sarcochilus ceciliae is a delightful miniature plant which is most often found as a lithophyte growing in cracks on the edges of granite outcrops in quite exposed positions. The which they are found in seem to form a perfect microclimate for the plants with water seepage remaining quite constant and yet perfect drainage maintained. These conditions seem to suit these hardy little plants which can handle up to full sun for a few hours at a time.
The plant photographed here is one that I have been trialling a new method of growing. The plant is mounted on an old solid clay brick which has been stood on end and benched as you would a normal pot. So far the plant being trialled is progressing well but I will post again when the plant has developed fully.
