Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum

This is a species whose habitat ranges from India, through Burma, Thailand, southern China, Laos and Vietnam. It is found growing either lithophytically, ie on rocks, and as an epiphyte, growing on trees.

It was introduced by the orchid collector Charles Simons to England in 1857.
