Synonym: Aeranthus grandiflorus

Aeranthes grandiflora is one of the first Madagascan orchids to find its way to Europe after John Forbes discovered it growing as an epiphyte in the rainforests at moderate elevations.
It is also the type species that John Lindley used to establish the genus in 1824.

Cultural requirements: This species requires a warm to intermediate climate, fairly shady with good air movement. Grows well in a small basket. Large pale green flowers on a long wiry stem.
