B.lumbriciforme

Section Intervallatae. An unusual colour form abiom. This species is from Sumatra and is normally a brownish reddish colour with faint dark spotting.. The peduncle or flower stalk is thin at the base but swollen near the apex with the floral bracts; the rhachis extends slowly producing a single 1+1/2" flower sequentially over several weeks. The floral bracts at the tip of the rhachis remain for a long period of time even when the flowering period ends. There is a variety with a yellow lip with lots of fine red/brown spots.
