This is a tricky one Tim.
With regards Parachilus Spathulatus...I guess you meant Parasarcochilus spathulatus?
If so then the monocot list says the below about that name.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parasarcochilus spathulatus (R.S.Rogers) Dockrill, Australas. Sarcanthinae: 22 (1967).
This name is a synonym.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accepted Name: Sarcochilus spathulatus R.S.Rogers, Trans. & Proc. Roy. Soc. South Australia 51: 1 (1927).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Family: Orchidaceae
Homotypic Synonyms:
* Sarcochilus spathulatus R.S.Rogers, Trans. & Proc. Roy. Soc. South Australia 51: 1 (1927).
Pteroceras spathulatum (R.S.Rogers) Garay, Bot. Mus. Leafl. 23: 194 (1972).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So....your plant becomes a Sarcochilus Perky
(Sarcochilus hartmannii X Sarcochilus spathulatus)
This can be confirmed at http://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/registerpages/orchiddetails.asp?ID=35728

Put this in a show
Hi Wellsy
Why do they have to have 6 billon names for things?
Name as you wish
Just out of interest
If i was to show this plant what class would it go in
Sarc or Parachilus? or would it go into say a (complex group)
Cheers Tim
with the Sarc's
In with the Sarc's Tim....thats what it is now with the name changes.
I know name changes are pesky and hard to take but best if everyone checks with the absolute authorities ie: the RHS and all will be well!
