Ascoglossum

Ascoglossum (Reichb. f.) Schlechter has one species known in this genus. It is a showy, monopodial epiphyte and allied to Renanthera Lour. and Ascocentrum Schltr. Ascoglossum comes from the Greek asco (bag) glossa (tongue). The species is found from the Philippines to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Specie: Ascoglossum calopterum Schltr.
