Hi Bill,
When i first bought this it was tag as infundibulum, the only different i suppose is the size, this flower is much bigger than draconis,it belong to sect.formosum if i'm not mistaken......anyway correct me if i'm wrong,I'll send u the picture of the whole plant when i'm at home..Its good for u guys to make comment on it cos at least i learn something fr u guys out there...
Yes Pak they are both in Dendrobium section Formosae.
Why I wasn't sure if this was Den. infundibulum, the petals should be larger than the sepals and should have a fluted column.
The photo above shows the sepals and petals are similar in size. From what I can see of the anther cap there is no fluting from the column.
If it's still in flower now you could have a closer look, if not, when it flowers next year we can sort it out.
Buying it labelled one name doesn't mean it is going to flower that name, don't worry about it, I think most of us have had this happen, the main thing is to get the name right.
Wow-as mentioned I have had that for a long time and it's been mislabelled for the whole time. Lucky it was only a photo and not a plant, I have never grown that species.

There u've got it Wellsy,i tought u've got the right photo of infundibulum.....hehehe.
Any way just to clear the air.....The one which i've posted, maybe its not infundibulum but i can assure u guys that both flower are not typical As i've said earlier, this flower is much bigger than that of draconis.Well just like what u said Wellsy,i've just got to wait till it next bloom or may be its of other different sp.i hope..
Any way thanks to u guys for the infomation.....I'm still green in this orchid world u know....
Ok Pak and Wellsy, I think we all agree that this is not Den. infundibulum at this stage as per my comments above.
Pak, you mention it is a larger flower than your Den. droconis, it is common to have size and colour variations in species orchids so just because one is smaller doesn't mean they are different species, it's just natural variation.
Looking at both your photos (infundibulum and draconis) plus many more of the two species I believe this one is Den. draconis and has simply been mislabelled as Den. infundibulum.
My view is we should edit this one to Den. draconis for now and when it flowers again next year we can have another look at it if needed.

Hello Pak, are you sure this is Den. infundibulum, looks more like another photo of your Den. draconis.
