I have found Hydrogen Peroxide or products containing Hydrogen Peroxide to be beneficial if used as an aid for keeping your plants, growing area and growing media clean and free of various problems.

I use a fairly mild strength solution (added to my soluble fertilizer as a preventive measure most times I fertilize) as a foliar spray from a knapsack (or similar sprayer). This is designed to keep plants clean and free of fungus and mould. (see table - Foliar Application row)

I also use it as a slightly stronger strength solution to keep benches clean and free from fungus and mould as required. The same strength solution is useful to sterilize used pots. (see table - Cleaning/Sanitising Benches row)

I also occasionally give my pots (including the mix and plant submerged to the base of the plant) a dunking in a bucket containing yet another strength solution as a preventive/restorative measure if pots show signs of 'going off'. (see table - Media Sanitising row)

Hydrogen Peroxide is considered to be a hazardous chemical which should always be used carefully. The below is some information which may be useful if you intend to use and store it.

NOTE WELL: It looks the same as water so please make sure you follow the safety advice below.

Handling: Care should be used to protect yourself from contact with skin and eyes when handling/mixing solutions containing Hydrogen Peroxide. Chemical resistant gloves and eye protection would be the minimum requirememt.

Storage: Store only in the original container always in a cool dark place.

DANGER! HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IS A STRONG OXIDIZER. CONTACT WITH OTHER MATERIAL MAY CAUSE FIRE. CORROSIVE. CAUSES BURNS TO SKIN, EYES, AND RESPIRATORY TRACT. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED.

Potential Health Effects

Inhalation:

Vapors are corrosive and irritating to the respiratory tract. Inhalation of mist may burn the mucous membrane of the nose and throat. In severe cases, exposures may result in pulmonary edema and death.

Ingestion:

Corrosive and irritating to the mouth, throat, and abdomen. Large doses may cause symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea as well as blistering or tissue destruction. Stomach distention (due to rapid liberation of oxygen), and risk of stomach perforation, convulsions, pulmonary edema, coma, possible cerebral edema (fluid on the brain), and death are possible.

Skin Contact:

Corrosive. Symptoms of redness, pain, and severe burn can occur.

Eye Contact:

Vapors are very corrosive and irritating to the eyes. Symptoms include pain, redness and blurred vision. Splashes can cause permanent tissue destruction.

Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions:

Persons with pre-existing skin disorders or eye problems or impaired respiratory function may be more susceptible to the effects of the substance.

First Aid Measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention immediately.

Ingestion:

If swallowed, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Give large quantities of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately.

Skin Contact:

Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse. If allowed to dry on clothing, evaporation leads to concentration and increased possibility of ignition.

Eye Contact:

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids occasionally. Get medical attention immediately.
