Bulbophyllum cheiri
Distribution: W. Malaysia, the Philippines, Sulawesi and Borneo
Bulbophyllum cheiri is found in lowland forest up to 100m.
Derivation of name: From the Greek "cheiro" or "chiro" meaning a hand and given by Lindley 1844 because of the arangement of the sepals and petals suggesting to him the arrangement of fingers on a human hand.
Creeping rhizome, pseudobulbs 10 - 13cm apart. Inflorescence up to 6.5cm long, single flower up to 4cm long.
