how much dry is enough?
you know Bernard...I have grown plants like this one!
Trouble is mine don't come back to life...LOL
Only joking. So this will come back again when the dry period is over? How do you know just how much dry is enough?

Dry
This plant requires no water not even high humidity for six months of the year, when it's ready it will send up a spike. You might just see a spike at the bottom left of the picture (out of focus) and a new spike at bottom, right of centre, see the green growing tip. If you accidently spray or water this plant when resting it interferes with it's natural cycle.

So how do you handle that
So how do you handle that with the rest of your plants?
Surely a low humidity area in a glasshouse is hard to arrange?

Agree
My deciduous orchids are kept in a dry area by the door in my warm section, where there is a fan blowing over the top.

I wish you lived just up the road Bernard! (and not the other side of the world)
I'd be around there checking out your collection for days I reckon.
Regards wellsy
I wish
I wish I had your growing conditions, longer days lots of bright light and warmth. I lose the sunlight on my greenhouse for three moths of the year (Nov to Feb).

Human nature I guess
Not sure how I would cope with 3 months not seeing the sun on my shadehouse Bernard. To me that is a testament to your achievments with your Bulbos's. I know how much mine complain in winter here in sunny Brisbane.
It's funny how no matter how good we have it...there is always something more we wish for. Human nature I guess.
