Sophronitis crispata member of the "rupicolous" group of Sophronitis which inhabit rocky outcrops in the state of Minas Gerais Brazil. There are some who believe this species may also be closely related to Sophronitis tereticaulis. The two are often found in the same locations with Sophronitis rupestris being found in more exposed locations.
Laelia rupestris is most often found under strong light conditions, usually full sunlight.
