Sophronitis xanthina is a Brazilian species much like a small Cattleya, this needs a basket or shallow pot for good drainage. A robust grower, fertiliser and water when the new leads appear will produce heads of waxy flowers.
A warm to intermediate grower, with maximum sunlight, to flower well. A dry rest in winter may be of benefit to Sophronitis xanthina.

Steve, I was glancing through the Cattleya gallery whilst waiting for an email reply, when I spotted this image. It's a fantastic flower with a clear sharp image. How large are the flowers.
