A majestic species which has to be seen to be truly appreciated!
Canes (psuedobulbs) will grow so long when conditions are right so as to be a constant cause of concern when they continually reach the full height of the enclosure they are housed in. Find the highest area and put the plant way up near the the light so that it can get the maximum heat and sun available and when it touches the roof just lower the plant to allow another few months (or weeks) of growth. Then move it again!
The flower spike emerging will require another reposition to give it room to develop but don't despair all this work is definitely worth it!
