Cheirostylis ovata (F.M.Bailey) Schltr., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 45: 394 (1911).
Distribution: NE. & E. Queensland to NE. New South Wales
Common name: Jewel Orchid
Cheirostylis ovata is a lithophytic or semi-terrestrial species which is found in leafmould. It should be grown like the Ludisias etc. It needs good drainage but a damp media while growing. When resting (this coincides with the 'Dry Season' in the tropics) a short definte dry period during which the leaves drop, may be essential.
