Paphiopedilum concolor (Lindl. ex Bateman) Pfitzer in H.G.A.Engler & K.A.E.Prantl (eds.), Nat. Pflanzenfam. 2(6): 84 (1888).
Distribution: China (Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi), Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam
Paphiopedilum concolor 'China' has dark green mottled foliage, purple underneath, requires heavy shade. This species is a warm grower.
Every Paph grower has a different media but the essentials are good drainage but retaining enough moisture to prevent the plant drying out.
Less watering is needed in the cooler months, and attention should be paid to the appearance of the leaves, where blemishes can indicate a problem with spider mite or similar pest.
