I think your entry should read FCC/AOS for American Orchid Society not FCC/AOC Australian Orchid Council.

Plant was bought from local
Plant was bought from local nursery, this was it's first flowering. I can only go on the name tag suppiled by them.

Did the tag include "Magnificent Watermelon Gold" FCC/AOS?
If not it is simply a seedling either remade or possibly from the original cross. That does not mean your plant is the awarded clone though.

I understand what you are saying, how do you prove or disprove that, all i can go on is what i bought it as. I would think that applies to most orchids.

I believe the plant is the real article.
It's just a simple misprint on the label.
