Cattleya walkeriana Gardner, London J. Bot. 2: 662 (1843).
Distribution: WC. & SE. Brazil
Cattleya walkeriana bears waxy flat rose purple, 13cm flowers which are heavy textured. this species is best grown on a slab of treefern with extra water and fertiliser. The species will also grow well in a pot or basket, where it will spread out into a specimen.
After flowering the plant should be rested. Maximun sunlight and ventilation is required to maximise flowering.
