Bulbophyllum rothschildianum
Subtribe: Bulbophyllinae
Country: India
Bulbophyllum rothschildianum is a spectacular species from India with an umbell of dark red flowers. The umbel consists of about 5 or 6 flowers, each about 10 to 12 cm long, dark red with much darker spots. The lateral sepals are joined and the petals have red apical appendages.
It is a warm to intermediate grower, does well on a treefern slab or in a large shallow container in a well drained media that stays damp but not wet. Light conditions similar to that for Dendrobium, maximum light short of leaf burn producing the best flower production.
I have a couple for sale for $20.00 (plus postage) or a swap if you are interested use my contact tab and let me know.
