ID
This likely is a difficult to identify intergeneric Encyclia hybrid similar to Enanthleya Pixie Charm (although probably not E. alata).
Can you post a photo of the plant?

Michael I added a picture of the plant. Does it help?

ID
It confirms (to me) my initial concept of Encyclia x 'cattleya', but no closer to an ID.

Guaricyclia First Love
Hi Jules,
This could be Guaricyclia First Love [Guarianthe aurantiaca x Encyclia tampensis], registered by F. Stevenson in 1967. It's the sort of result that I could see resulting from that grex. Colouration of the progeny could be variable, depending upon the colours of the parental species.
What do you think?
Cheers.

Sizes
Jules, could you provide flower size and leaf and pseudobulb lengths? First Love might be a possibility....

I try to be as accurate a possible, although I am no good at the correct Latin terms.Pseudo bulbs up to 8 cm, round cross section, tapering to both ends, leaves two, up to 17 cm x 1.5 com solid, cross section a very slight V shape, widest section 1/3 rd from start, gradually tapering to a lance shaped end. Inflorescence starting from end of pseudo bulb emerging in between the two leaves. Flowers 4 to 5, size 50 mm across. Not able to give you more accurate measurements as the last one just fell off yesterday. Hope this helps
