Dendrobium agrostophyllum is a slender, graceful plant. It bears neat clusters of yellow, well displayed flowers which are fragrant like cinnamon.

This species is found only in the eastern tropics between the Ross River and Annan River. Mainly grows in cloudforest on rainforest trees but does also inhabit more open locations and gorges at lower elevations.
