Dend. cross with dead bud removed.

I was going to bench my beautiful Dend. cross in an orchid show, but something happened to 1 bud. All the others opened up, looked spectacular, but this one bud looked damaged. I opened it up and there was a crawlie inside of it. Could this orchid with bud removed, still be presented? It made be cry.

I was told that it is acceptable if the damaged bit is put in the pot for the judge to see.
What you have to remember is that the person who told me may not be any smarter than I am.
