Liquid fungicide

What would be a cheap liquid fungicide. Any ideas?

Fungicide

Google ALGINOX and look for an entry written by Bernie & Merle Arrah of the Maribynong (I think) Orchid Society. Alginox is a used as a pool treatment and contains Benzalalkonium Chloride which is the active ingredient in a US made orchid fungicide.
I found it at Kmart.

be careful

alginox is also very toxic if used in the wrong concentration.

Regards wellsy

So what

Steve,

So what is the right concentration ?

Fungicide

Warren, if you Google Alginox you will find two entries relating to its use on orchids -

Monthly Bulletin January 2008 and
Maribyrnong Orchid Society

Read them and all will be revealed.

PS DON'T spray it on flowers!

Thank you fellow members, sounds good. But what do you think of this one....
1 teasp. Bicarbonate of soda
1 litre Skim milk
1 litre of water
Mix together
Before spraying add a pinch of Condy’s Crystals

Would there be any reason to suspect that this recipe would work. (I believe, Potassium Permanganate is a disinfectant and deodoriser)
Any comments.

Fungicide

I have heard of something similar for use on roses to combat black spot fungus. I believe bicarb soda can be used alone for black spot.

Pot. permanganate is a fungicide and has been used medicinally (externally). The Ithica baths in Brisbane (don't know if they still exist) used to have a foot bath of Condy's crystals solution you had to wade through to get from the dressing rooms into the pool area.

It can be used alone in a weak solution as a fungicide and if you have leanings towards the crime of arson, you can mix it with glycerine and it will ignite spontaneously which is handy if you want to burn your mother-in-law out.

I have heard of skim milk, bicarb soda and Pot. permanganate all being used alone as a horticultural fungicide.

My father-in-law used to use Condy's crystals solution to treat outbreaks of tropical ulcers on his legs that be brought home (the ulcers, not his legs) from around Milne Bay during WWII. I am sure he didn't self-prescribe the treatment.

The old Ithica baths in Brisbane (don't know if they still exist) had foot baths you had to wade through between the dressing rooms and the pool area.

If you have leanings towards the crime of arson, you can even mix Condy's crystals with glycerine to make a self igniting mix. Handy if you want to burn your mother-in-law out. You can even use it to made gunpowder.

Well Scrubber, thank you.

Well Scrubber, thank you. After these messages, I think I have the answer. Thanks for the nifty idea you have given me with my mother-in-law.
