Mericlone?
Warren,
That's a beauty!
I guess this is a mericlone. Did you buy it in Australia?
Horst
it is
Horst,
Yes it is a mericlone, I got it from Valmardre's in far North Queensland, he imports a lot by flask.

Nice bright thing, it's a pity that the sepals are not a tad longer, which to my eyes, would give the flower a more balanced presentation.

Shape
Bernabu,
It's eye catching but no stunner, this is the first flowering though. It has been divided once and has had 2 failed attempts at flowering over the last few years ( grows like a weed though ) I,ve had more plants in flower this year than ever before, my only idea on this is the effect of the cyclone that we had after Christmas, more light on the plants, more rain? was I under watering, who know's.

You have probably heard that sometimes if a plant is stressed it automatically tries to flower so that if pollinated it can survive through the dispersal and germination of the seeds.
bernabu
Stressed
Bernadu,
I don't think stressed is the right word, more like happy, contented or something along those lines, yes I did have a few very small seedlings pass away but mainly most have just looked good.
