Dendrobium lageniforme

Hi Alex,

I don’t agree with the recent move to expand the genus Dendrobium to ensure that it is monophyletic. The World Checklist is going along with this trend and is including Diplocaulobium within Dendrobium, so your Diplocaulobium is Den. lageniforme.

It looks as if volume 6 of Genera Orchidacearum will also include Cadetia and Flickingeria in Dendrobium.

Cheers.

Gary

Wow, that is a lovely and shapely flower. Has it been used much in hybridizing with hard cane Dens like speciosum hybrids?

Used in hybridising? I'm not aware if this orchid has been used in hybridising. Yes it has a good shape, but the flowers only last 2 to 3 days.
