Dendrobium lancifolium

Was given this many years ago as a very small plant growing in sand,

( it is still in the same pot and sand ) It has what I would call canes, 1 to 2 mm thick and 30 to 50 cm. long, the leaves are about 5 cm. long and 1 to 2 mm wide. The flower is about 2cm across and 4 cm front to back. ID as Dendrobium lancifolium, THANKS fellers.

terrestrial

Just as a quick starter it's one of the terrestrial Dendrobiums I think.
I'll have a look around and post again (if I find it) Warren.

Agreed... Dendrobium

Agreed... Dendrobium lancifolium I believe.

agree

Steve,
Do you agree with this ID?

Warren

yep

I think it looks pretty good if you compare here http://www.orchidspecies.com/denlancifolium.htm

Maybe see if anyone else comments first. I'd go with it though if no-one else comments.

Colour

Steve,
The flower shape and plant discription look good to me. What about the colour, is that a worry?

Warren

colour

The colour looks good to me and if the plant description fits yours then I reckon you could pretty much label it Warren

Regards wellsy

Why would he want to label it

Why would he want to label it "Warren"?

Re-read

Daniel,
I had to re-read this a few times before I got it, very clever (-:
